San Fransisco 49ers... Tale of Two Teams

Well, my 49ers are out of the playoff picture this year after a good comeback from last year's abysmal season and finish up with a 7-9 record... But WTF, we lose 2 HUGE games at home to the aging legend that is Brett Favre (HOF to be and well-deserved), and his so-so Packer team and then lose to the inconsisten Arizonal Cards, but then have incredible wins at Seattle and just today, a big comeback win at Denver?! WTF, and now looking back on the season, those 2 winnable games vs. the "Cheese Heads" and Cards, those games cost us a playoff birth...

Keep the faith, 2007 looks promising for the 49ers...

Avoided Going Broke on this Crazy Flop...

My opponent played it sneaky as he limped in from an unopened pot from the small blind and I have 7-6. When the flop came A-7-6, I am initially thinking, New Found Glory songs going off in my head but...

Ok, so I flopped the joint straight, but there is a flush draw out there. I bet - then get a caller - then a RERAISE - so I thought I had to protect my hand with the hammer all in. So, what are your thoughts if you may?

Blazers get the Screw Job from the Refs

I agree with Mike Barrett's commentary that the Blazers lost the game to the woeful Sixers last night long before the end of the game, but shit, those refs (Mike Callahan and David Guthrie) should revoke their officiating in the NBA. After trailing by 10 with less than 2 minutes to go, the Blazers some how cut the lead to one at one point and had the ball on the final play to tie or win the game. Rookie sensation Brandon Roy, as he did in the Rockets game a week ago, drove the ball, and got the last chance at some heroics. However, Roy was CLEARLY fouled and missed the shot (almost made it to) and the game was over. FSN Northwest showed a good, clear replay that showed the two refs looking exactly at Roy's direction (or I guess some hot chick in the stands as I don't know how the fuck they could have blown something like this) and did nothing but scratch their asses. I hope the league reviews Callahan and Guthrie piss-poor decisions(more than one play was botched in the final seconds so something has to be done) and are suspended indefinitely!

Check out this lucky donkey that stacked off all his money on the river and again, I am rewarded with another bad beat:

Ok, if all you poker would be so kind to give me some of your analysis here because I am playing against the same moron. Well, I talk to my (online) poker bud and cousin Victor, known as vicy8 or vicjustpwned you (teared it up on Party before they showed us the door and still tears it up on Stars at 1-2 or 2-4NL... beware) and here is his expert analysis of the hand above:

vicy2 (10:37:42 PM): it's not even close to correct
vicy2 (10:37:43 PM): for him to call
vicy2 (10:37:44 PM): on the turn
vicy2 (10:37:48 PM): that is absolutely great play
vicy2 (10:37:57 PM): he is exactly 2-1 underdog
Me (10:38:01 PM): and did u see the one with the runner flush hand...?!
vicy2 (10:38:05 PM): yeah
Me (10:38:08 PM): fuck, i think he mite work there
vicy2 (10:38:11 PM): the thing is
vicy2 (10:38:15 PM): your all in
Me (10:38:15 PM): its unbelievable
vicy2 (10:38:17 PM): was so perfect
vicy2 (10:38:21 PM): I couldn't say how it could be any better
vicy2 (10:38:29 PM): if you bet any less
vicy2 (10:38:36 PM): it'll be giving him direct pot odds
Me (10:38:41 PM): yea; he has a great drawing hand
vicy2 (10:38:42 PM): plus the little bit for remaining implied
Me (10:38:48 PM): i put him on that and priced him out
vicy2 (10:38:48 PM): 15 outs, 45 unknown
vicy2 (10:38:54 PM): That's the ONLY bet
vicy2 (10:38:55 PM): you can make
vicy2 (10:39:00 PM): that makes it correct for him to fold
vicy2 (10:39:09 PM): that is a great all in
vicy2 (10:39:19 PM): i woulnd't even consider that aggressive
vicy2 (10:39:22 PM): I think that's the only play
vicy2 (10:39:27 PM): any other play is horrendously bad
vicy2 (10:40:17 PM): It's horrible when you make a rsie that gives a guy direct pot odds...and you only have a little bit of money left relative to the pot anyways
vicy2 (10:40:32 PM): and that is why the ALL IN is the only correct play

vicy2 (10:41:14 PM): he is so retarded
vicy2 (10:41:21 PM): the only way t hat hand is good
vicy2 (10:41:26 PM): is if you don't have the K paired
vicy2 (10:41:33 PM): K or Q paired
vicy2 (10:41:49 PM): his J or 10 must be live
vicy2 (10:41:51 PM): to make it close
vicy2 (10:41:53 PM): they both must be live
vicy2 (10:41:57 PM): to make it an instacall
Me (10:42:00 PM): which they werent
vicy2 (10:42:10 PM): and it's not possible unless you have an underpair
vicy2 (10:42:26 PM): and that's just wishful thinking on his part...but most likely...he has no idea how to play this game
Me (10:42:38 PM): yup
vicy2 (10:42:41 PM): it's a very easy decision when someone puts you all in
vicy2 (10:42:49 PM): it's seldomly that hard
FriedRice33 (10:42:50 PM): those 2 hands made me know that he's clueless
vicy2 (10:42:55 PM): you put him on a hand
Me (10:42:57 PM): put that guy on your buddy list
vicy2 (10:42:57 PM): and once you do that
vicy2 (10:42:59 PM): decision is easy

Happy Holidays Everybody

First off, I'd like to take this time to wish everybody a safe and Merry X-mas. A busy week in the making and will be out at a Christmas party tomorrow which means that I won't be able to cover the Grand Final BPT Event [ I guess my consolation prize is this since I didn't make the Grand Final... :-( ] at poker.com My poker buddy "Beerman" Mike has made the final once again (congrats on that btw). I know you'll be going to Australia whether it is blogging about the tourny or (hopefully) playing in that event. To wish Mike good luck, visit his blog here

Bad Luck Continues...

Tried switching it up by withdrawing my money at pokerdotcom putting it at Full Tilt, but things haven't been running very smoothly either here. Down over $100 bucks in three days and then this bad beat that just happened... I had notes on my opponent to be a little loosey-goosey and put him on a draw or a weaker top pair (which was the case) but look what the online poker gods did to me again...

Ok, now the moment you've all been waiting for... The pokerdotcom one time outdraw... for ME!!! (Not a 3 outer or less that I've been experiencing but I'll take it. Still need a one-time during a NL cash-game though especially since this was a freeroll tourny...):

More Shit from Pokerdotcom... How Much More Can I Take!!

I don't recall the last time I bad beat somebody on this site but shit, if that happens, I will post about...

Also, it's not just the bad beats... The last few emails (listed from a previous post) have gone unanswered or were unsatisfactory which was never a problem before...

I figure, I have an over $500 bonus to clear but am thinking now that this shit isn't worth it... I am barely breaking even with this circus that has been going on and am disgruntled about their lack of support...

Do or Die Time!! BPT Last Call/Chance...

The countdown is less than five minutes away from literrally the final BPT Event entitled "Last Call".

Beer bottles aside, I have just been seated at a 9 seated table that goes like this from left to right:

Twenty minutes in... still nothing major at my tables... Managed to increase my stack to T5,265...

Another WTF...

So I received an email earlier today that Blazer rookie phenomenon Brandon Roy would be returning tonight... I also go to Blazers.com come at around 6:45pm and it also confirms it... And then he shows up in street clothes?! WTF!!

Blazers vs. Clippers... ROY!!!

As you can see, with school out, I can blog more of what I'm thinking with this being my 3rd of the day.

It's just minutes before game time and our ROY (Rookie of the Year) contender Brandon Roy will be returning tonight! Will Roy be the same before his injury... We're about to find out...

The downside to this is that my 2nd main man, Sergio Rodriquez is probably gonna get the ol' cooler from shitty coach McMillian... Sergio has been getting 2-3 minutes for the past few games (where he cannot display his full potential) and will probably be warming the bench full time... Nate McMillian, you fucking bastard!!

Last Chance for "Poker" Winter Formal/Ball

Well, the time has come, it is crunch time. I know that I'll be playing online poker this winter, but will I get a chance to play live ("formal") poker in the land down under's Aussie Millions or will this be like Winter Ball where I'm like Might Casey and strike out.

The BPT last event # 7 is appropriately named "Last Call", which is hosted by my poker amigo Beerman Mike's Poker Pub. As always, the BPT regular season events consist of a freeroll prize poll of $500 at poker.com. I anticipate this to be the BIGGEST BPT regular season event with so much on the line where in the finals, one can not only win, cool prizes of a poker table, iPod, or even the main prize, a trip of a lifetime and seat into the Aussie Millions. Need a poker.com account... click this link here. Have a blog and still want to get in on the fun... You can do so by registering here. Good skill to all!!

Joey's Random WTF's for this Week...

* After a diabolical loss at home to the woeful Green Bay Packers, my 49ers chances of making the NL West Wildcard looked to be dead especially with a game vs the division leading Seahawks... But WTF (more like HWF: "How the fuck), I am exhuberant that the SEAHAWKS LOST, and that a lil' faith still exist in my 49ers season (sort of like the Red Sox when they were down 03 to the Yanks and were down to their final 3 outs and then saved there season and eventually win the World Series).

* Our Blazers ended up going 4-2 on an East Coast road trip after losing practically all their games on their homestand before the trip... But in the WTF's defense, we played some piss-poor teams at the bottom of the barrel.

* My stocks of Starbucks have tanked... Any analyst know WTF is up with that? Buy, sell, or hold?! (There is a bunch of mixed analyst ratings on this joker so what sayth you?)

* Within 2 months (mainly this last month) of "choreograph" TNA by Vince Russo, I have seen the most face/heel turns ever:(1) Sabin turned heel, (2) Petey Williams turned face out of nowhere, (3) AJ Styles SUDDEN heel turn by picking on Rhino (4) Christian Cage turned heel (a good decison IMO), (5) The Naturals turned heel(6)AMW and Gail Kim turned face, but for only to half James Storm betray Chris Harris and Gail last night, (7) Kurt Angle appears to be turning heel too after last nights Impact (a good thing IMO)... And this, baseball players AJ Pryzinsky and David Eckstein fueding... All the ones that don't have a good thing IMO remark are kind of mind-boggling to me and get the WTF is up with that...

(I even almost checked the river but still had the fish on top pair with a big kicker)

Now here is the thing that bugs me: I go on to type "donkey" and the donkey appears in my bubble chat, and then he says something in the likes of that's what happens when you slowplay... My memory may not be good at times but I was damn sure I didn't slow play the hand. I go to the hand history and my memory served me good here for whatever that's worth being that I raised the flop and raised his bet of 2 overcards on the flop... So, I tell the nimrod known as elCrotalo that I didn't slowplay the hand and asked him if he knew what slow play meant... He then comes up with that I checked the turn, in which I review and see that he checked and I bet it and tell him that I didn't and can't believe how a terrible play like this is rewarded continuing from the flop of having Queen high and no draw...

The table was unbelievable... A guy that hand before had his Aces cracked by some guy that called 3 bets w/Q4s and hit runner-runner flush as well... and then a couple hands later, some guy chased the river with a pair of 7s with 4 overcards on board and hit his set on the river...

BPT

The BPT Omaha H/L (hosted by Poker Pub's Beerman Mike) has been changed to a deep stack NL Event... As much as I suck at Omaha, I thought it would have been a nice change with the luck I've had at Holdem lately. It's still anybody's game and even your's truely has a (long) shot despite being in the top 50 right now... But I must say, I've been playing terrible in the past few BPT events (laydowns when I would have won and bad laydowns when I would have won) and my luck factor hasn't been stellar either so that's not a good combo... Maybe with school out of the way after tomorrow, my game will be more focused and successful... Have a blog and want to play in the final BPT Event for your share of $500 and possibly a trip and seat to Australia for the Aussie Miilions for free, sign up here for the BPT now!!

TNA!!!... NBA to Switch to Leather Ball on Jan. 1

First off, check out the TNA montage highlights from Turning Point last night...

Speaking of Turning Point, check out this great moment in TNA a couple years ago from Turning Point...

And while your at it, I happened to stumble upon the INCREDIBLE montage of the Greatest Moments in TNA (A must see for wrestling fans)

Good news for the NBA or at least the players...

From nba.com

NEW YORK, DEC. 11, 2006 – The NBA announced today that on January 1, 2007, it will return to the leather game ball made by Spalding, for the remainder of the 2006-07 season.
“Our players' response to this particular composite ball has been overwhelmingly negative and we are acting accordingly," said NBA Commissioner David Stern. “Although testing performed by Spalding and the NBA demonstrated that the new composite basketball was more consistent than leather, and statistically there has been an improvement in shooting, scoring, and ball-related turnovers, the most important statistic is the view of our players.”

"In the meantime, we will work with our players and our partners at Spalding to determine the best possible ball for the NBA."

The NBA Development League will continue using the new composite ball to evaluate its performance over a longer period of time. The WNBA will continue to use a different composite ball that it has used since 1998.

Spalding has been the Official Game Ball Supplier of the NBA since 1983.

Huge TNA Impact Preview for Tomorrow

After scrolling threw the TNA website, I must say that I am jacked for tomorrow's show. Two major PPV-material matches that include this preview from TNA:

PREVIEW FOR THURSDAY’S “iMPACT!” ON SPIKE TV
Broadcast highlighted by the “TNA All-Star War”

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling “iMPACT!” returns to SpikeTV this Thursday night at 9pm ET as TNA counts down the days until the Sunday, December 10 “Turning Point” Pay-Per-View event.

MAIN EVENT: TNA “ALL-STAR WAR” – NO RULES, NO MORALS, NO MERCY
Abyss vs. Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe vs. Rhino
Prior to Sunday’s “Turning Point”, six of TNA Wrestling’s top stars will compete in a no rules, no morals, no mercy all-star brawl! With so much on the line heading into the huge Pay-Per-View event, who knows what chaos will erupt when all the major players in TNA compete in the same ring on one night!

Also on Thursday’s broadcast:

PETEY WILLIAMS VS. HOMICIDE
When Petey Williams protected the American Flag from torching at the hands of the LAX, he earned the rage of Konnan, Homicide and Hernandez. This Thursday night, Williams will go one-on-one with Homicide in a bout that is sure to feature the no-limits, high-flying X Division style of each star!

KEVIN NASH TO ADMINISTER PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS TO THE X DIVISION
In the ongoing preparation for the upcoming “Paparazzi Championship Series”, Kevin Nash has announced that Jay Lethal, Alex Shelley, Austin Starr, Senshi and Sonjay Dutt will all undergo psychological exams this Thursday night, administered by Doctor Nash himself!

All this and much more this Thursday night on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV, including many more of your favorite TNA stars! In addition, more matches will be announced for the upcoming “Turning Point” Pay-Per-View event!

First off, the dream match that has never happened before of two phenomenal X-Division stars: Petey Williams vs. Homicide. This IMO is the battle of the two sickest finishers in wrestling today: Petey's "Canadian Destroyer" vs. Homicide's "Gringo Killa"!! Finishers aren't the only thing these two are great at... Expect some high-flying, innovative wrestling in this match people...

And then of course, the 6 man main event: Abyss vs. Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe vs. Rhino!! Enough said... TNA is pulling off all the stops once again...

Students: forget studying for you finals, and wrestling fans, no excuses... Tune your tube on SpikeTV tomorrow at 9pm tomorrow for this explosive wrestling spectacle... I swear you won't be disappointed like that of the ECW December to Dismember PPV or any other WWE event. Hell, alone, the Williams/Homicide match will have more high spots than a normal two-hour WWE event... So tune in or else!!

Pokerdotcom Support Tanking...

The online support that I've received from pokerdotcom from the past had been first-class (aka Kris, which I thank you for) and was a big reason why I still play at the site... But as of late, I've noticed a downward spiral in their online support siimilar to my BPT position on the leaderboard keeps diminishing south (Where are you Kris??).

Take this email I received from them about a cancelled tournament that got "suspended" (a pop up stating that it was "suspended") 5 minutes before its start time while all other cash games and tournaments were running smoothly:

Hi Joey

Thanks for your email

Poker news is an affiliate tournament we are not aware of what time or
dates those tournaments will be running.
You will need to contact the
affiliate for that information

Kind Regards,

Noticed the bold part, "we are not aware of what time or dates those tournaments will be running"... Hello! It was suppose to be running right now and that is why I am contacting you!!

Now if that wasn't enough, check out this doozy where I'd sent an email about some people abusing their chat:

Hi Joey,

Than s for your email,

Unfortunately we are unable to act on this kind of behavior with out
seeing the abuse first hand, so if this happens again in the future,
please copy and paste the chat into an email for us, or give us the hand

I happened to have my mail open and responded with a paste about an incident from their chat abuse and yet have received a response...
I will continue to play at pokerdotcom, but if some of these things with online support don't improve...

If the BPT wasn't Bad Luck Enough...

Well, since the BPT wasn't enough, I decided to try the $60 tourny satellite tourny that I won and look at the sucker that sucked out on me again... Again, can I catch a fucking break?? I've gone to the breaking point now that if poker.com didn't have such great online support or offer so all these great promotions, I'd dump them

Great Ron "The Truth" Montage Along w/Killa Song

TNA Wrestling fans, those that love Ron "The Truth" Killings, here is a great montage video with badass song (sounds like its by Limp Bizkit). If you don't know who Ron Killings is, this video should make you love the guy (wrestling-skill wise and maybe more for few women that read my obscure blogs and rants hehe). Also, check out Truth's Myspace page where this video can also be found:

BPT: Can (Shoud) I see a Flop with The Battle of AK vs Jacks... Two Different decisions: Two Mistakes

Well, I don't have the exact hand history for the 1st battle of my AK vs JJ but I had re-raised the opponent to 200 after his raise and then I called allin... The reason I did this was because it was the loosiest guy at the table and I remember last weak in this same scenario where I folded and the guy showed AQ... So its my jinx hand AK vs Jacks and I don't improve:

Now with that in my head (and against a tighter opponent), I get another AK and pot from UTG and then get a reraise... With that last debacle from last hand... I decide to fold but before I do, I ask "cparsley" to show and he agrees and rabbits (good gesture) only to show another mistake by me:

Rabbit cam shows that I would have won... (argh, doh, NOOO!!)...

And then a few hands later, I get this very weak reraise and put him on Kings (he had AK) but since I had the nut flush draw from the flop and a good amount of my chips in there, I had to commit myself...
