Bubble Boy; not a very Happy Holidays for me so far...

Wholy shit!! Title of blog says it all. I heard "The Professor" Howard Lederer call himself the "Bubble Boy" at this year's WSOP but I think I have to take that nickname unfortunately. Played in two tournaments, $6,000 tournament and $4,000 tournament and finished both one spot from pay. The first one happened on Christmas. Did good all tournament til the start of the 3rd hour of the tournament. Had to make laydowns after being raised all-in a few times. Was getting clobbered around like The Thing clobbering Dr. Doom (just saw The Fantastic 4; good movie and I must say Jessica Alba is one fine vixen). I still had enough chips to fold around and guarantee myself $50 since 2 of the players at my table could blind out within the next 5 hands or so. I get dealt AK on the button and is folded around to me. If I want to have a shot at winning this tournament or move up in money, I have to play this hand/blind steal. I raise all-in and am called by a AJ. I am in dominating position and low and behold the 3-outer Jack(ass) flops and I get a Merry X-mas of $0 for 3 plus hours. Shit! SHIT!! FUCK!!!

Well, if I could have topped that, I entered a $4,000 tournament yesterday with 22 peeps and only top 3 pay (1st: $2,000; 2nd: $1,200, 3rd: $800). Get punished early but made up for it. 2 hands I got Q9 suited and made straights that doubled me up 2 times. Made the final table and was short stacked. I tripled up with my 9-9 and have a shot of cashin. I even made a great laydown at one point. Player UTG raised 4 times the blind. I am 3 seats ahead and get dealt AJo and decide to fold. It's folded around by all like dominoes and the player shows A-A. Wow. I feel the momentum turning. Whoops... spoke to soon. I end up being chip leader with 5 people left but the blinds are gi-normous. Shorts stacks kept raising all-in and kept doubling up. Before long, I played 9-9 and it didn't hold up, and crippled me. to 4th. Last hand, I'm on the button with K-9o and bet it all which was about 3,800 with blinds being 500-1,000. BB who is the chip leader calls with A-10 and I am about to be bubble boy. Flop is 3 jacks; I need a miracle. Turn is a 9!! Good grief the short stack is gonna survivor another han... River Ace. Fuck! FUCK!! FUCK!!! Not like that. Would of been fine if that nine didn't hit.

Alright question to those poker junkies out there. How would you have played it? I could have easily made the money in both tourny's but decided to take a chance in order to win it all/more money and ended up with $0. I read something from Lou Krieger one time. He talked about tourny startegy and said in late tournys, you have to take risk in order to win more. Sometimes you will go out on the bubble and sometimes u'll make it big. I like that philosophy but the pokah gods don't seem to like me this X-mas...

Happy days are a coming... well at least not pokah wise at this moment. Today marks 2 NEW episodes of TNA Impact with one involving my favorite as a child, Sting. TNA has done a tremendous job in their storylines lately and mocked and milked the Sting appearance thus getting the attention of everybody, which I think is working quite well. I have a good Spider-sense that I'll see him hit Jeff Jarrett with his baseball bat or Scorpion Death Drop. God, it's been too long since I've seen the mysterious one. Batter up!!

WSOP TOC, Impact, and last but not least, Merry X-Mas

Almost forgot that the WSOP TOC was gonna be broadcasted today. Being that I already read the results for this event, I had to see it with the final three including Mike "The Mouth", "Cowboy" Hoyt Corkins, and Phil Hellmuth. Man I can't believe the bad luck Phil has against Hoyt. I remember at Foxwoods where Phil had J9 vs Hoyt had J7 where Phil caught top pair of 9s on the flop and Corkins hit running 7s to win the hand.

Back to today. Many of the hands Phil played vs Hoyt, Phil was the dog. Phil was getting his usually punishment by Hoyt. When Phil gets an A-Q and pushes, the cowboy happens to get the weapons of mass destruction A-A, which made Phil go from chip leader to the morphine drip and never did recover. How about Hoyt saying something of the likes, "I can't beat you but I have to call you on one particular hand." I don't mind the call in which he won, but don't say this crap before and then call. I bet Phil was thinking the same thing in how can you call if you say you can't beat it? Pot odds? I don't remember the exact bet size and pot so...

How about that CLB (creepy little bastard) Steven "Dannon-sprinkle-yogurt-mann" getting into Phil's business. Never thought I'd see that. Of course, Dannonmann is a nice guy in all, but he is just creepy looking to me. Now, with the attitude, I liked. I didn't think it was a big deal though. Lots of pros take their time in making their decisions. The best example that comes to my mind is Chris Ferguson. And, nobody else had a problem with Hellmuth's sloopy chip stacking so for once, I think you can't fault Phil.

Impact marked the return of "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Daniels wasn't at his best obviously coming off a "grade 3" concushion according to the announcers which is true. I love The Angel's Wing's finisher. It's a better version of HHH's Pedigree only harder to execute. Daniels being a smaller wrestler than HHH has to actually lift the opponent up in the air and slam the opponent in a safe position nearly face 1st. Always looks like it hurts and probably does to a degree where the Pedigree, HHH is a bigger person and the opponent jumps rather than lifting.

For the 2nd week in a row, TNA has mocked the appearance of Sting. I like this in that it creates suspense like the WWE does, and draws ratings. Or so b/c Sting was my favorite wrestler growing up. Ah, the colorful-painted-face screen high fiving the fans back in the day, delievering Stinger Splashes and The Scorpion Death Lock (Sharpshooter). It's been like 5 or 6 years since I've seen him wrestle and to see him again would be phenomenal. New Year's special, don't disappoint me in which I know it will not but please give me a Sting sighting dammit!!

It snowed!! Crazy weatherman

This past Sunday, Portland/West Linn got a rare dosage of the powdery white stuff. That's right! It actually snowed and stuck to the ground!! Remained baricaded in the house and played a few tournaments but to no avail cash wise. Made about $50 in the ring games though so all was not lost.

Listened for the weatherman's forcast Sunday night and the prediction was for freezing rain the next three days. Monday comes with a warm current that eventually takes away all the snow. No freezing rain for Mon. and Tues. Again, the weather man is a genius. Not predicting the snow on Sunday and then predicting freezing rain with not a site of it. Is it just our weather man or is it everybody's? His initials also happen to appropriately be B.S. (Bruce S.). Sometimes, I wonder why I'm not a weatherman.

Random Thoughts

Lots of tournaments coming up this weekend starting Friday. After my incredible victory for a satellite seat to the WPT World Poker Challenge (in Reno this March) and then immediately winning $300 in a $2,000 tournament, I've been colder than a Dentine Ice mint. Ok maybe not that bad, but maybe as cold as the freezing fog outside as I write this. Lady luck/poker gods, where art thou? I could use some extra money for Reno.

Next off, I'd like to denounce my fanship to the Blazers. Yes the recent 50+ lose to Phoenix followed by the normal (11 point lead in the 4th) choke I am use to by this team to the T'Wolves didn't help the cause. Yes I have been a fan probably since the tender age of 4 but you know, enough is enough. I am tired of all the atrocious management and the poor performances of the last few years. The last string that broke for me was trading Rasheed Wallace 2 years ago. Ever since then, the team has been Mae Young god-awful. So the goal was to get rid of out bad boys (boo) and develop a clean image. The bad boy image works in Mo-town but why not here? As well deserved, attendance has dwindled even worse (prob bet. 8,000 - 10,000 empty seats).

Just got the new WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 game for the PlayStation II for my bro. Missed out from the last one, so this makes up for it. Compared to the 5th Smackdown, there are some substantial differences and the game is quite harder (maybe I have to get use to the controls). I tried to take out that punk ass gangster known as John Cena with my main guy Kurt Angle on the Hard level of difficulty (2nd hardest) and the counter meter for the computer is too smart (again, I gotta get use to the controls). He dropped my ass like a sack of potatoes with an FU (I managed to kick out of the first 1 as he also kicked out of my Angle Slam) but couldn't survive the next one. Rematch challenge; you going down Thuganomics major (hehe; my trash talking for a video game; how pathetic; leave insulting remarks for me below ;-D)

Survivor, Imapct, Winter Break baybee!!

Boy, yesterday was absolute hell for me yesterday. 30+ pds of books' 3 finals in one day; back aches. I have had it and am estatic that an intermission is here.

Yesterday was the 1st day that I've seen Survivor in a while because of school. Man, winning a challege like Cindy did and then having the option to sacrifice the car so that everyone else could have one in return... If it could get me a million, I'd do it in a flash, but doing that doesn't necessarily get you the million and was a nice consolation prize. Nice job Cindy. I think you made the right decision in taking the car. Saw her on CBS Mourning Show today. She looked a lot like Amber, but even hotter IMO. Her accent even makes her cuter for some reason I can't explain.

I must say that the Rafe guy reminds me of Clay Aiken (which is a good thing). Goofy hair, the glasses and the accent. Can't believe he's made it this far in the show but since I haven't seen most of the shows, I never knew he was athletic as everybody else said he was the main threat. Gotta love it when a the main man is a geek is on an island with 4 other women. Should be an interesting final. Rafe first (Furst) as the poker player daddio!!

Special Thrusday Impact was on too so it was a double treat and a good start to my break. How about "The Undefeated Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe annihilated Amazing Red. Joe's "Muscle Buster" prelude finisher is becoming one of my favorite finishers. Really looks like it can cripple ya or give ya a major concushion as it did to "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels.

The only complaint I have with Impact is that the show general starts off well and their closing matches don't necessarily top their early matchs involving the X-Division. They got the concept it isn't always about size and I really think that they should move these matches or spread some of them out to the end.

Gonna get some food. Take care everybody.

Impact thoughts

The rain is pooring. The weather is not quite freezing. It must mean one thing. Yup, it's Monday mourning. But as I write this, it's the afternoon.

Final week of this term. Can't wait til this term is over. Has been pretty brutal.

Weekend was highlighted by a great episode of Impact! High-flying, X-Division, fatal-four-way match featuring Austin Aries, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and my fav Petey Williams. Seriously, this is an opening match?! Definitely main event material. Innovative wrestling at its best.

Match started of with the good guys (Sabin and Ares) hitting perfectly done suicide dives through the middle ropes. The move of the match had to be Chris Sabin's stalling suplex into a sick neck breaker/DDT. Was wicked and they should have replayed that move. I was so damn shocked (being the 1st time I've seen that move) that I had to put it in front of the Canadian Destroyer. Sabin goes on to win with a devastating Cradle Shock on Petey Dubya.

The Abyss/Sabu segment was tight. Should be interesting how their barb-wire PPV match plays out. Abyss nailed Sabu in the head with the barbie chair and busts "The Genicidal, Homicidal, Suicidal" Sabu open. Sick!! Then Abyss finds some steel/aluminum (hard to tell) guard rails from the back, lays them down, and chokeslams Sabu on them!! Holy shit!!

The only negative segment/critique I have about the show was Jeff Jarrett's long interview. He's so lucky he has backstage power. I couldn't agree more with the fans that chanted, "We want wrestling!" Thank goodness for Christian Cage's appearance as he really ribbed on "The Queen of the Mtn" Jarrett and got the fans jacked.

If anybody in town is gonna order the PPV for this Sunday's Turning Point, give me a reply/call something. I'll even bring food and pay for half of the PPV. REMINDER: Impact is on Thursday this week at 10pm EST. After my finals, this will be a great start to my winter break!!

Random thoughts

Woah!! I can't believe it's the first day of December already. Was watching the news last night because there was an advisory for snow tomorrow. Of all days I want snow, Thursday would be the premium day for me for it to happen. Long day at school normally between 9AM to 8:30PM. I know this is Portland and we already had our share of snow last year and ice the year before maybe things were changing. I wake up, and not a damn thing but rain. Good one weather man!! I should have known it would have just rained. Your normally 50% right at these things anyways at best. Long day ahead as I type this before my next class... :-(

Next week is finals week and low and behold, I have 3 finals on next Thursday with the hardest one first with 2 being back to back form 10AM-12PM and 12:15PM to 2:05. Seriously, who is the idiot that made this finals week schedule of not taking your final on your normal day and normal time?! This is College Football BCS (or BS) ridiculous as it comes!!

I am trying to post ads on my blog and am unsure how. If anybody knows how, please leave your comments and help me out.

Just got an email about the monthly Bet365 $100 promotion they are running again. This is the sweetest deal on the net IMO. No restrictions (no bonus codes or deposit required as long as you have money in your account) and one of the easier bonuses to complete (5x raked hands of bonus). New registers need a link? Click here and I'll send you $10 free. If I get enough sign-ups, I'll try to offer some rakeback as well.

Off to class now. Regards to all!!

Happy Thanksgiving or so I hope you all did; FT Invitational

Hope you all had a stellar Thanksgiving. Nothing special for me this year. As usual, we had turkey with the relatives. Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, pumpkin pie. Man, I gotta do some sit-up/crunches now.

Happen to catch some of the Monte Carlo Full Tilt Invatational that featured probably the most potent table I'd ever seen. Ivey, Juanda, "Jesus" Ferguson, "The Mouth," Gus Hansen, "Devilfish" Ulliot, and last but not least, my man Phil Hellmuth. Didn't see the whole thing though as I missed some of it driving back from the relatives house. Caught Hellmuth's exit and how he berated Ferguson's bad call with A-5. LMAO!! Come on Phil, I can justify his call with you being short stack trying to steal on the button.

Talk about on fire, Phil Ivey won the Monte Carlo Millions the day before this Invitational and comes out on top of this event. Short-staked throughout the tourny but holding on and catching monster hands as the blinds went up, propelled him to knockout fellow Asian John Juanda. Damn, I've seen Juanda on TV so many times but have never seen him win one. Still, Juanda is probably one of the deadliest players out there. It's only a matter of time before I see him win a big one.

Smackdown and Impact Thoughts

A very solid week in the wrestling entertainment world. A very emotional episode of Smackdown that was tributed to the late Eddie Guerrero was 5-star material. When was the last time I said that about Smackdown?! Batista, JBL, Chavo had very deep comments about Eddie. Never thought I'd see a 6"6 318 pound Animal cry. Good segments and reminicents of Eddie's wrasslin career. The guy was very hilarious and a great in-ring performer. A winning combination indeed.

TNA Impact was pretty tight too. Why don't these guys get more ratiings than they do?! Opening of Genesis pics was sick!! Slams on barb wires (to go along with another super barb wire match at Turning Point between "The Monster" Abyss and Sabu) and Samoe Joe destroying "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels (very hardcore; get will Chris).

1st match has "The Samoa Submission Machine" Samoa Joe vs. "Mr. 630" Gerelle Clark. No 630 splash this match as Joe dominated in his usually manner. 6'0 and a whooping 280 pounds, you wouldn't believe the way this guy can move. Sick modification of a DVD (Death Valley Driver) knocks out Clark and then the submission. This move makes John Cena's FU look like a weak fireman's carry. Work on it Cena.

Christian segment!! Did I mention how happy I am to see this guy here!! Awesome mic work. Wasn't too keen on him being a face (good guy) as he has been such a damn good heel (bad guy) but it'll work. Worked the crowd; got HUGE chants. Now, out comes "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown. He does his spiel and before he could get his punch line out, Cpt. Charisma cuts him off and makes fun of him on how his "Pounces" guys. LMAO!! Crowd starts a Monty's gay chant!! Too cool. They start to brawl and then Monty gets the best of it by giving Christian a sick Pounce making Cpt. Charisma fly head first into the bottom/middle rope.

TNA is improving weeek after week. 1st class wrestling and improved storylines. It'll be interested to see what the WWE does to try to top the Eddie G. tributes because I don't think they can.

Takin down another tourny and other thoughts

Finally. Christian.. Christain!! At last, you're in TNA!! This guy can work the microphone and the crowd. So glad that he made the move from the WWE. No more being held back like Billy Madison in elementary school. Oh no no no junior!! NWA World Heavyweight Title in the future. That's how Christian rolls!!

After last weeks satellite win, I don't know how I could have top that. Well, the answer, nothing (unless another WPT or WSOP seat). So I just played a $2,000 tournament today. 907 combined entrants filled with homerun swinging (peeps all in every hand) donks and some familar forum players. Was doing fine early gathering chippies from catching the fly balls from the donks. Make pay and go very far. Remained in the top to middle area throughout most of tourny. Took some hits and ended up being 25th out 25 near the end. There was one hand were I got dealt J-J UTG and raised 3x the blind. Unbelievably, I got called by 3 other people. Don't people respect a raise from 1st position?! Obviously not. Now, BB is ready to act (chip leader at the table) and he moves all-in. Holy shit!! I take most of the time and I reluctantly fold it. It's called by everyone else with hands 9-10s, KQ, and K-10. How the hell did these clowns make it this far?! BB shows A-A. Wow what a good laydown by me. Whoops... Jack on river would have given me the dubya. Son of a bitch! Hellmuth might have been proud of my laydown. Things don't look good.

In position, my A-9 doubles up over an A-3 and jump a few spots. Put some moves on and I somehow make the final table. I start the final table in the middles. A few hands in, I take a hit holding J-J running into Cowboys. Damn Jacks were a jackass today. Went from 60K or so to about 20K. Immediately next hand, I get an Ace and push. Called by 2 people and I split with one guy. I get an AKs a few hands later and raise and is RR all-in by some1 holdin AKo. I miraculously flushed out on him and now I have a good chance at winning!!

Now, HU. 10 hands or so in a limp with Q-5s. I am slightly behind. I flop a flush; check-check it goes. Turn is a blank and I bet and he raises. I think and RR half my chips and he RR all-in. I call. He flips over a str8 and I cripple him. 2 hands later, my 4-4 holds up against his all in Q-8 and I am $300 richer!! Now, how does this mojo work for live tournaments? Will need to work on that for Reno!!

RAW is Guerrero!

It was a very emotional Raw this past Monday as it was a tribute to the late and great Eddie Guerrero. Not only was it emotional, but the matches were pretty damn good.

The beggining of the show was very memorable and emotional for me. Shedded some tears seeing all the melancholy faces, especialy after seeing Benoit's emotion. The guy is normally rabid and a beast but to see him like that knowing his out of the ring relationship with Eddie, made me feel gloomy. During Benoit's reminescience of Eddie, the tears came coming out of me again. Others that stood out were my Olympic hero, Kurt Angle, Big Show, and of course Eddie's nephew Chavo.

Match of the night most definitely was Shelton Benjamin vs. Kurt Angle. Both have great chemistry and are phenomenal athletes. Shelton with cat-like reflexes and Angle letting it all on the line after neck surgery and many other injuries (also left his wife to continue his dream of wrestling) give it all and dedicating the match to Eddie G. I still don't get how could the audience chant "You suck" to Kurt Angle. The guy is far from sucking. A phenomenal athlete that wears patriotic colors, is a technician in the ring, and being a good friend of Eddie (and wearing an armband EG), they should have cheered the guy. Was happy to see him raise the armband up high in the end to get some pop.

If you are a wrestling fan that missed Raw, shame on you. :-) Catch Smackdown tomorrow night as that is also a show dedicated to Eddie. Chavo and Benoit will be there in action so don't miss it!!

Rolla Coasta Past Few Days: Thoughts about Eddie Guerrero; Poker Tourny: I'm going to Reno!!

First off; Sheed is da man!! Pistons/Blazers game was closer than it should have been. Sheed rained some shots from downtown to stop every Blazer comeback. Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion, Roscoe (Sheed's name on his belt).

Yesterday (Sunday) was a very unforgettable day for me. Started off reading some wrasslin news. Unfortunately, I came upon some bad news and learned about "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero's death. Eddie was probably one of the best in ring performers of my time. A high flyer with great technical wrestling along with his humor antics and cheating made him one of my favorites. To hear that he died all of the sudden at a way too young of an age of 38 just made my jaw drop reading the news. Rest in peace Eddie. (Guys: watch RAW and SMACKDOWN this week to see the tribute shows dedicated to him. Should be good)

Played in the PokBlue satellite yesterday after last week's 2 1/2 hour play of finishing 19th and winning goose egg (nothing). Will low and behold, your's truely makes the final table and somehow wins the enchalada!! That's right!! Because of my huge dubya, I have won a trip to the upcoming WPT World Poker Challenge in Reno this March! Things looked really bad at start but by crunch time, I was near the top. Got lucky at times and made Phil Hellmuth (monster) laydowns. One time, when in first placewith about 15 or so left, I get dealt 7-7 in early position and raise it up. Only BB calls and flop is 6-9-10. He checks I bet about 40% of pot and he re-raises. I fold. Ok nothing spectacular about that hand. Still have chips and continue fighting.

At the final table, I start out in 2nd and get an AKo in mid position. Short stack UTG raised half his chippies and is folded around to me. I figure the dude was making a move and push my chippies into the pot. He shows K-9 and I have him dominated like a Traci Lords movie. Whoops; other way around as he flushes me on the river. Now went from 2nd to 6th with 8 to go. Not looking good.

Ok enough delaying. Here's my monster laydown or so I think it was. You be the judge. Two hands or so after that debacle flush, I get dealt a 9-9. Ah yes; the Phil Hellmuth hand (won with it in the 1989 WSOP and beat Chris Ferguson on final hand of the 1st match of the HU Championship). Short stack now raises and I re-raise enough to put him all in and hopefully knock-out the competition with the 2 RR and not risk too many of my chippies. Have about 28K left Guy next to me has 20K left and RR all-in and I take my time and fold the bad boy. If I called and lost I would have about 8,000 left and be in dead last with blinds about 500-1000 Never knew what the guy had put I was still in the tourny and I basically pulled a miracle out of my rear.

Down to 3 seated and I have a pretty solid player to my right and a maniac to my left. Maniac probably raised 65% of the hands. Pushed back all-in a few times and got the monkey to swing out of the hand. So dangerous. Later on, I get a 6-6 in the SB and 3.5 the blind. Maniac RR all-in and I take my time and thought why so much so I put him on an A-rag or 2 overs. I call it and he shows KQ and he misses board so now I have chip lead HU by 30K. I tell you what, if I had to face the maniac HU, I don't know if the outcome would of been the same.

My HU game has been very week lately. 2 runner ups in a row and now the big one on the line, I though how was I gonna choke next. No choking this time. Just eating the fish (he was a nice guy and not a fish; just a good word for the sentence). Play was fast and he eventually ran of chippies and now, I gotta work on the pokah face for Reno now.

*** (Guys if you want to try to win a satellite seat to a WSOP or WPT for FREE like I just did, email me. Create a new account at PokBlue by clicking this link here. Starting now, I will send ya $10 free if you register a new link through this link. If I get enough peeps to sign up, I will try to offer rakeback as well). ***

After tourny, it was time to study for my exam in 14 hours. I know I passed the test but by how much? ;-)

DEEETROOIITT BASKETBAAAAALLLLLL!!!

Rough week of school and it it doesn't look like it is gonna get better until X-Mas Break. As the song says in New Found Glory's Catalyst CD, "It's all downhill from here." :-/

Does this get any worse school wise?! Big paper due this week and a presentation and test next week; followed up by another project the following week, followed by finals! Holy shit it does! Shit! Damn! Fuck!!

Glad it is Friday. The now atrocious Blazers will be hosting the Pistons! That's right. My main man and the baddest mo'fo in the NBA makes his only visit back to the P-town this season. Pistons are playin magnifico b-ball. Off to a lightning start at an undefeated 5-0. Truely, the champ Roscoe (Sheed's name on his WWE World Heavyweight Championship) is back!! Will be there wearing my ol' school Blazer Sheed jersey and will be cheering for Detroit. Throw a fit, Get a technical foul (just one; I wanna see you dominate; not get ejected now), and raise some hell!! Gotta put up some big numbers for me Sheed!!

Thursday IMPACT!

I use to love Thursdays as it was the night for Prime Time TV baybee. With the absence of Friends and Smackdown now, the only survivor that is left with Thursdays is Survivor.

Of course, yesterday (Thursday), there was a TNA IMPACT special at 9PM. Go figure as this is my long day at school. A dreadful 10AM to about 8:30 (suppose to be over at 9PM but he lets us out early). Well, that gives me a good 25 minutes or less to get home (gotta get out of class and then to car).

I get to my last class early that night for some reason. Must have been TNA daddio! Class supposedly starts at 5:40. I get there at 5:30. My Iraniun (either Middle East or European) teacher had developed a constant pattern of showing up later and later after every class sort of like the Phil Hellmuth every year at the WSOP Main Event. First week, on time by then minutes. Second week, late 5 mins. Third week, late 10 minutes. On the 5th week, he got it up to a whooping 20 minutes late!! Damn, should of bet someone that he would have shown up later cuz then, I'd have some extra pokah money!! Ok, Week 6 now, can he possibly beat 20 minutes...? Daraee (his name) shatters the record being an incredible 40 minutes late!! He gives his usual spiel about being on Highway 26. Goddamit, if Highway 26 is always that bad, find another fuckin route!! Anybody know the odds of him arriving any later? Might be willing to bet if the odds are right (hehe)

So because of Highway 26 aka Daraee, class gets out a little after 8:45. Oh shit, Shit, SHIT!! Basically 10 minutes to make it home when it takes at least a little over 20 minutes to do. Please don't make me miss the X-Division matches.

I get home about 9:20 and tune into TNA. I see Monte Brown "Pounce" the hell out of this jobber. Damn, that move has gotta hurt. Coming up, 3 on 3 X-Division (Light-Heavyweights) match that includes "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe (he ain't no fuckin Lightweight at 6"0 and 280 pds but damn, can he move!!), Austin Ares, and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. Very solid match with lots of high flying action and suicide dives through the ropes!! I can't write all this good shit down. You guys have to see these matches to believe it!!

Ultimate X match later on was tite. Matt Bentley, of course with the very hot Tracy by his side, vs. Chris Sabin vs. probably my fav. TNA wrassler Petey "Oh Canada" Williams. Very innovative match that included a swingingly neckbreaker of the top rope and an Inverted Automic drop (butt breaker and/or ball buster). Holy shit! Holy Shit!! HOLY SHIT!!! as the fans would scream out!! Again, you gotta see this to believe it. Now, if only they broadcast a Monsters Ball Match (Heavyweight Hardcore match) on National TV...

Donktropolis at the WSOP

A quote or something similar from Phil Hellmuth to build on: "Learn to fold a hand... This can't be the World Series of Poker."

Times have changed. From fields from the mid hundereds to approximately 6,000 poker junkies, can there really be a boom of great pokah playahs? I think The Mouth said it in a previous episode where he says hes says that he's a rock here and he learned that people don't fold hands anymore.

On to the donk of the day for today's episode. No offense to chickie poker players (lot of the pros I see on TV are great and the ones I play online with usually school my as, but Tiffany Williamson has to be the luckiest donkey there. HTF did she make it this far? Seriously!! I know they don't broadcast every hand, but even Norman Chad of all people mentioned that she had been making moves and playing hands that pros would typically fold. Holding KJ and re-raising is fine but then getting re-raised all in and take a fucking eternity?! Come on!! This isn't a salon or washing your hair now. It's an easy laydown when you get raised 2 million in the situation. Even says, before folding, that this had been a lucky hand for her (Jesus, I wonder how many suckouts this donk had). Gotta at least put your opponent on AK or pkt pair (opponent The Shiek had A-A) and then has the audacity to ask if she could see his cards after getting clocked. No fucking way biatch!!

2nd donkey mistake by Tiffany Williamson (glad she ain't related to my man Robert "Jazzman" Williamson III). Ok, there is a raise UTG and Tiffany is next to act with AJ off and RR. Not the smartest play in the world but respectable. Then, defending champ Greg Raymer is next to act with 2 cowboys (Kings) and pushes 1.3 million all in baybee. Folded around to donkey Tiffany (any1 know the term for "female donkey" please respond). Shiek immediately calls for the clock (hilarious) and deservingly so. She thinks stupiditly for a while and calls and gets what she deserves. How the hell can you call a re-raised pot twice with AJ off?!

3rd donkey mistake. Shiek already pissed at Williamson's turtle movements gets into another battle with this fishy player. Shiek gets Q-Q and raises and is folded around to our "lagg" who is dealt with an unspectaclar A7 off. She thinks and pushes everything in. Wow, tilt factor. God awful play and is immediately called. Spikes ace... shyt!!

Enough of this. I have gotten a headache after watching her abysmal play. Had to write it out.

Rough past 2 weeks, dad had a lil heart attack and now grandma had some strokes and a heart attack. Say a lil prayer for both.

Two and half hours and nothing to show for and other thoughts, Chritian: go to TNA!!

Was playing a satellite at PokBlue yesterday and just came up short. Started with about 100 chip slinging donkeys and 100 skilled tournament players (maybe 150 donkeys and 50 playa's). Got caught in the cookie jar early lost about a 40% of my chippies. I was fortunate to get and have my A-A hold up to regain my starting chip count. Got count up from 1,500 to about 3,700 and then went down hill from there. Then got a dreaded table change that yours truely didn't request (when I request one, they don't hear me, when I am doing fine and don't need one, they hit me... conspiracy theory of mine :-D). Was in middle of pack and got moved to a table where 6 out of the 10 people had a massive chip count. I hold my ground for a while but when the blinds got to high (400-800) and I having about 2800 in chips left, I raise with one of my unlucky hands (KQ) 1,600 in middle position and am re-raised (9-9) so I put it all in and go out in 20th place. Almost 3 hours and nothing to show: my day is ruined.

Just read some wrasslin news before my class and I discovered that "Captain Charisma" and Peep Show host Christian has quit the WWE. Ever since Christian became more vocal (moved away from The Brood), I started to be a huge fan of his. His humor that started with Edge & Christian's Five Second Flash Photography thing was classic. Can't count out all the TLC matches they had too. I considered E & C as the best tag team ever.

Back to Christian. IMO, Christian's single career was held back because of the WWE. He proved himself in those dangerous TLC matches and had developed one of the best mic skillz. How stupid was it that the WWE didn't pick up on this and pust the guy?! This guy probably works 10 times as hard as an HHH but gets the shaft. What do they do to reward the guy?! They move him to Smackdown where again he was underused. Shows you how much the WWE is going down hill the past few months.

I had the privilege to see him and one of my other favs Chris Jericho in a Ladder match about a year ago. Was the best match that I saw that day. Hope to see Christian around again and hopefully in TNA!! He didn't go out the way he should and should get the recognition from all his "peeps" and "Christian Coalition!!" Maybe Canada can start a "You screwed Christian" chant know for ya Vince!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!

What a Long and Dreadful Week of School; Hellmuth appearance

From the title, you probably know that I am glad this week is over. 2 midterms and a paper. Why does every goddam thing have to be cluttered along with other classes?! Next week doesn't get any better either; gotta get crackin on my marketing project.

Thursdays use to be my favorite days but now that I am at school from 10AM to about the end of time, otherwise known as8:30PM. This day is a nightmare. No Friends, always miss Survivor, and no wrasslin to watch (thank goodness it isn't raw or most importantly TNA IMPACT!). After getting destroyed by a 25 essay/short answer exam on Tuesday, I think I made up for the one last night or so I hope...

Get back home and check mail and log onto my UltimateBuddy (Thanks Shark; this is golden) and low and behold, poker great and etiquette player Phil Hellmuth is online playing at a Lowball 2-7 $150-$300 table HU. I for one am a terrible play chippie player at this game so maybe I could learn a few tips and strategies from my favorite poker player. (NOTE: Damn ub for not letting the observers chat.) In about a half hour, Phil's $10K goes down to $14.50. Phil berates the guy on making donkey rAAAis (god I wish I had the transcript from that; if any1 knows how, please share the info with me). Phil's spelling and grammar is not at his best when steaming. For all those people that thought online poker is rigged, guess again. Phil can take a beating despite being the great ambassador that he is with ub.

Ok Phil moves to NL holdem table and puts in $2000. Lots of people that just come in a sit and say hi to Phil. Some people wish him luck and admitted they wouldn't want to play against the likes of him. I would be one of them too. One guy plays one hand and takes over $1000 in one hand and runs like hell. Surprisingly, no negative or yellow remarks from Phil.

IMO Phil Hellmuth is the best and most entertaining poker player there is. Probably the most disciplined player (i.e. making laydowns) until the poker gods punish him with a bad beat. "Did you see that honey. I was suppose to go broke that hand, but they forgot one thing: I can dodge bullets." Very true. Too bad he wasn't able to avoid the Ko-jack bad beat. Phil entertains me when he is doing good and bad. Blowups are one of a kind and his slap on the hand and then fist pumps followed by a "Yes!" are classic. I've seen enough of the blowups Phil; get a dubya again: Heads Up Championship re-peat...

Shark Challenges Me to HU Blog; WSOP thoughts

First off, rough week of school. Exams, papers, and all holy hell you can think of this and next week. Probably no let up from here. SHIIIITTT!! Probably should be doing my homework now, but you guys are more important (for the 5 or 6 people that read this :D)

Ok; so my hero (Shark) has challenged me to a HU blog. Sorry for late response Steve. Don't think that I was intimidated. Just had a bunch of school shyt to do. I am a big dog as Shark has almost a whooping 6,000 hits according to his StatCounter to my unspectaclur 50 as I speak. Whoops; now I am intimidated. I think I'll throw in the white flag known as my Joe Boxers now.

Pokah tidbit. I have to say Steve Dannennman is a jackass. His bluff on my man Howard Lederer was great, but to run to the back like a little school girl that he his and brag about it, it just reminded me of how little girls gossiped back in middle school/junior high. Some people just have to grow up (Hellmuth, Matasow, and Bellande are exceptions thank you very much :-D).

Very shocked to not see ESPN move the TV table to the Matasow/Raymer table. If they just wanted to keep cutting to the table, don't you think it would of been wise to make the the feature TV table?

No poker playing today (as of yet) to busy watching WSOP and soon to be bull shyt called homework. Interested in playing online poker and want to help me earn a commission, click here I need all the help I can get to save some money for Nevada in the springtime.

Until next time.

It's Official: The Blazers suck more than ever!

If you thought that the Atlanta Hawks or Charlotte Bobcats were gonna be the worst team in the NBA this year, think again junior. Portland's (I don't know if I can I support them anymore with such garbage management and coaching) beloved Blazers.

I actually get their late after a late dinner to celebrate my mother's b-day. We ate at a buffet called Todai. Had some good sushi and snuck 3 bowls of creme bolee for desert. Had to do it. It is how you get a $20+ buffet worth its price. My brother ate about 5 creme bolees!! Kobayashi (the hotdog eating phenom): eat your heart out!

My father and I get to the Rose Garden as the first quarter is about to end. We have complimentary 300 level seats but as the sneaky little bastard I am, I had this great scheme to stay in the lower level. Cautiously, we walk the around until we find an entry without an usher. Wahoo!! 100 level seats now. Who's your daddy?! Then look up at score: Blazers down 20. Shit!! Tom Peterson once said, "Free is a very good price" which I totally believed until I saw this car wreck trail of the Trail Blazers. Preseason may not count but believe me, this will be a common site for Blazer.

I didn't get to see Bonzi play the first half which was a downer. 3rd quarter, he tore it up. Blazers down 20+ most of the game and when Blazers tried to make a run, my Blazer Killa Bonzi caught fire. Rainbowed a 3 (best rainbow in the business) and slashed hard. I was the only one cheering him in my section. Very sad the Blazer fans are. They boo players because they have "off court" problems (initally is ok but not 5 years later). I say who gives a shit as long as they perform on the court. That is the attitude in Detroit (the right one may I add). While I put the blame all on management and coaching which if you are a Blazer fan (come on; you can admit it still; just preseason), is the right one if you critically think about it. Two names: Paul Allen (richest owner in NBA and still can't produce a winning team) and Bob Whitsit (my name for his "Whitshit"). So after 10 years or so, Allen fires the guy. 10 fuckin years to figure that out?!

No pokah stories today. Resting up from bad luck from the online poker gods. PokBlue satellite tomorrow and then I gotta hit the books like a mo'fo.

Bad luck

Weekend is here. Very bad times right now (will explain later) and this coming week with 2 huge tests. Why do all these exams have to be crammed together?

Some pokah tidbits. Your hero (me) made a killing the previous week before. I went up almost $400. Decided to move up from $2-4 to $3-6. Unfortunately this week, the fishies are getting there minute share of revenue back. All started with a hand where I get trip Aces but some lucky donkey hit running clubs (after hitting a 2 on the flop and was raised) and hit a flush with 2-7?! Lucky donkey, thanks for putting the money in. I knew your intent and charity was much appreciated. Ever since that hand, I've been running awful and unlucky. How about hold a K-10 and flop coming K-10-3; then turn hitting 10 only to run into my opponents K-K. What are the odds?! That's pokah. Maybe should quit the rest of the week. This always seems like a bad trend for me. I move up and get "Phil Hellmuth unlucky" by the donks. Back to $2-4 for for awhile.

Tomorrow (Saturday) I will be going to my first Blazer game of the season against the Kings. I don't like the direction the Blazers have gone the past decade and I am quite frankly, very disappointed. The one that really drew the line most was trading my favorite player Sheed (Rasheed Wallace). This guy is baddest ballah on the planet. MVP like and has an attitude like Mike Matasow and/or Phil Hellmuth. Will get to see Bonzi Wells again. I was always a big fan of him and he has become a "Blazer Killa" now since leaving P-town. Hopefully; he'll tear it up slashing to the hoop and raining jumpers. Bonzi has the best rainbow (high arc) shot in the business. It is not like splashing poker chips around but both are fun to do and watch.

Will play a satellite at PokBlue this Sunday but will probably rest from the ring games. A great chance to win a seat into a WPT event or WSOP main event. By just playing 4 hours a week, you win your way into a Satellite to win your seat. That's it. If you wanna try it out, click here or the banner.

That's all for now junkies. Have a good weekend.

WSOP 2005: Hellmuth's exit

Would of wrote this earlier, but there is a damn thing called school.

First off, I have to say that I am not a huge fan of the swearing penalty. I, myself have a potty mouth and I think it takes away from the game. Who the fuck (see; told ya I was bad :-P) invented this penalty?! That is why poker is a game for 21 and up donks! Everyone there is an adult and swearing is normal goddamit!!

Back to pokah. So I had to miss half of the 1st show (hopefully willcatch a re-run this weekend) and with my luck, Phil Hellmuth had to be at the TV table. Despite his Chicago WhiteSox luck (hey they haven't won it all yet...), he played the absolute best at the table. Mad props to the man!! Raising with AK vs. old man with AA and flop as the poker gods can only do to Phill 4-4-A. But what does Phil do... check-check. Whew. Turn Queen. Check to old man's big bet (more than half the pot) and folds (I would of put the old fart on KK or JJ with that kind of bet) HOLY SHIT!! What a monster laydown!! And to only lose the minimum as he could that hand! Who else could of laid that one down?! His quotes (if someone where to have please send me them; most appreciated). What do the pokah gods (if you really are out there, please stop messing with Phil :-D) do to reward him, that is right. His AK gets rivered by some donk who puts it all in with KJ with a Jack on river. Phil even calls him a "donk" or "donkey" (was hard to hear cuz I was laughing at the blowup) and then calls him a "suckah!!" And that lucky don't says Phil is a crybaby. What a fuckin hypocrite. Just the hand before, he was complaining about a "bad beat" that wasn't a bad beat (nut staight on flop; opponent hit a set and then boat on river) that happened to him. Total donk. If you ever play online lucky donk, give me your screen name.

As only Phil can, he steams off. God what a great wife Phil has. Phil you are lucky; she puts up with you and gave you courage and a good luck kiss. Things would change right? Oh wait... "If there weren't luck involved, I'd win everyone of them." I am starting to believe it. Of course Phil never bull shits. Maybe his steam break was too long as his chippies were short-stacked that he had to call "X-22" aka "Nose" Paul McGrille raise with my jinx hand AQ and lose to X-22's 7-7. Consillation prize; HUGE blowup!! Shakes X-22's hand in disgust and looks at donk and smirks / evil look: can't tell with sunglasses on (very classic). Then he goes to critiques X-22's bad play of moving all his chips in with 7s and of course the donk. Also mentions the "luck not involved" quote again. Just as good as the one against Annie Duke in the TOC last year.

Phil's blowups are great and fun to watch but goddamit, I would be even more happy if the guy would win. IMO out of Phil, Doyle, and Johnny, I thought Phil should have been the one to win 10 bracelets first. This guy plays his heart out (physically and emotionally) and seems to always be cursed. I have to agree with Phil, if it weren't for luck, you'd be da man!!

A Shark Tale

Just got back from Spirit Mtn Casino. Quite an adventure trying to get there. Pops was nice enough to let me drive his '92 Lexus SC400 to the casino. Smooth and slick car and great ride. I always thought the drive to Spirit Mountain being I was always the passanger, but driving that beast would definitely made the drive faster. Only about an hour and half away. Unbelievable thing was that he was trying to give me directions and screwed up twice. You figure someone that goes to Spirit Mtn 2 times a month should know his way around. Hopefully, he "Johnny Chan" of Pai Gow Pokah would hit it big at the casino.

I get to the casino and hit the pokah room right away to check out the action. Amazingly, the room wasn't full. I look around the table to see if my mentor Stevie "Shark" H. is around. Looked at hats and baldies but no match. I leave my name on waiting list and come back in 5 minutes. Low and behold, I see a bald guy at the counter and it is the big Shark himself. Great guy; nothing I expected him to be but after reading his bloggies, I should have known better. He and his lovely wife, Patti (hope I am spelling this right) invite me to the buffet. Last time I had the buffet at Spirit Mtn. things weren't pretty or at least the food wasn't so kind to my stomach. So far so good. No "barfing down" this time.

During grub, Shark uses his charm with the the hostess, waitress, and wife. My favorite had to be talking about Evelyn Eg and Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier (even smelly feet Annie Duke). There is nothing better when you can talk about hot women and boobs in front of your wife and get away with it. I wonder if Shark will be in the sleeping on the couch after this at the hotel? Better make it up at the poker table.

Off to the poker table. I got a 10 seater with $2-4. Lots of family pots and 2 donks to my right. Things appear to be decent. Chick next to me wins first two pots with K-K and K-10 (2 pair in end) and is immediately up big. Ok. Good cards on my side of the table. Things are bound to be good for me right? You guessed it... I should have been playing at a Blackjack table. I manage to win a semi-big hand with Q-8h. Four player and flop came J-8-5 with 2 hearts. On the button, I continually bet it but ended up missing my flushy and checked down at river just in case some1 had a Jack. No Jack and I am up about $15 after pot.

I see Patti walk by my table and ask her how she is doing? She said that she was getting killed at her table. Sheesh, that is no way to treat a pretty lady guys. About 30 minutes or so later, Sharky comes by my table and tells me that shes is "rasinhavok" and tearing up the table. You go girl!!

Back to me. Cards would just get worse. Janet Reno-god awful hands: most common hand of night had to be 3-7 (4 times). Dear Lord! Dealer after dealer; junk after junk. Dealer Mike, I think the best hand he dealt me was a 10 high! Damn, I'd seen better hands on one of Jake Hannah's endangered turtles!!

Ok next dealer after Mike (some hard to pronounce name) came and 4th hand in, dealt me A-A on the button. By this time I was slightly in the whole. It is raised early and folded to me in which I re-raise. Guy re-raises again and I just call (already saw A-A cracked by junk but was sure he didn't have 3-4os) Flop comes all rags. He bets and I call. Turn is Queen: he bets and I raise. He calls. I was sure that he either had KK or JJ and since he didn't raise back, I was pretty sure he had JJ. River came duece. Check-bet and I show the Aces and he mucks. So down $8 to about up $20.

No bad beat stories to tell tonight. How can I with all the Gus-like hands I got?

Total: ended up $18. 3 times in Spirit Mtn, 3 times up between $10-$20 in $2-4 FL games in 2 or more hours. I gotta lot to work on.

All in all a great night. Even if I lost money, the price was right to meet Mr. and Mrs. H. Steve is a great and down to earth guy and a kid at heart, and his beautiful but deadly at a poker table wife Patti. Wish I could have seen her take a bite at the table.

Playing with the Pros

Just got done playing a tourny that featured pros Dave Colclough and Tony G!! "I'll rip you in half." The same Tony G that was two-time final tabliest (is that a word?) of the WPT Grand Prix de Paris and winner of the 2005 European Poker Championship. This guy is a classic to watch. Up with Matasow at the poker talbe, this guy (though a gentlemen from what I hear) can trash talk like "Fitty Cent." Unfortunately, yours truely didn't get to play at the same table as Tony and was out early. Tony G, you gotta start making more final tables on the WPT and WSOP bud.

I had the privilege to play with Dave Colclough. Dave too was also a finalist at a WPT Grand Prix de Paris event. Didn't see that much aggressive play when he was at my table but he had chips that for damn sure. Being that I sat to his right and having a inadequate amount of chips compared to him, it was hard for me to tangle with him so I was intimitaded a little.

Tourny started with 124 players with a plethora of rebuys. 206 total rebuys at $25 a piece so $2,050 in rebuys to be exact. Good grief!! That's a bunch. Great players with very few fish trying to cash in big. I hung in the middle to bottom throughout the tourny. Ended up winning $100 in over 4 hours!! Hardest $100 I've ever earned.

I am flabergassed and out of ideas to write about. Maybe an update later but now, I am going to get some grub.

Televised WSOP Main Event: Day 1 and 2

Some great action displayed. Just wish ESPN would update their graphics as the WPT. I still enjoy watching the WPT better than the WSOP but one this is for sure with ESPN. You get your does of Phil Hellmuth!! :-D

Great action with some wicked beats. I feel very bad for Jennifer Harmen. To have a boat and then get rivered by an idiot drawing thinner than a dental floss thong bikini was beyond incredible. Pocket "whores" are usually pretty evil to me too. Why can't I have my mellow Asian's luck with the "bitches" like Johnny Chan? (see previous post) What is your secret Johnny? Should I start to bring an orange when I play now? :-)

Second sick hand most definitely had to be Sam Farha and the celeb who I am drawing a blank with his name now (Orlando something?) Hey did anyone notice that Farha didn't have the cigerrette in his mouth? Almost didn't recognize him. Anywho, Farha gets dealt A10 and Orlando gets 10-10. So same is close to a 3-1 underdog. Great Ceaser's Ghost, the flop come A-A-10. Very sure that Sam was gonna bust him on the very first hand and that was the case. Dear God!! I don't think I could of laid that one down and if I somehow made it to a big event and that happened to me on the first hand, I think I would of pulled a Hellmuth and beyond!!

Funniest moment of the show had to belong to Randy Jensen aka "Dream Crusher" (quote VVP). They guy had a jinx of going out on the first day of the WSOP for the past few years so what does he do... His head is shaved like a Budist (nice look) and reads a book and plays No Limit Fold'em Pokah. But what were to occur... You guessed it. He busts out playing only "one hand" (They didn't even show the hand on ESPN; just said he lost and showed him getting up leave. ESPN needs to show this IMO. It could of made for great humor thats for damn sure.

Speaking of Hellmuth, that is where the main action is. What the hell was ESPN doing not putting him at the feature table?! Hellmuth does his usually coming an hour or to late. Very classic. Arrives in style though. Arrives from huge stretch limo with UB gear and new Poker Brat shirt. YESS!!! I need to get me one of them!! Phil arrives in 1st class style and gives the camera a slick figure point. Back at ya Phil. Being the gentleman that he is, he comes to his table and shakes everyone's hand; even one person twice. One day, I hope to be shaking the great one's hands.

I am not a fan of Norman Chad but his flushy awards were great and dead on IMO. Norman, it might help if you shaved that mustache of yours or stopped called Marco Traniello (Jennifer Harmen's husband) "good looking" /"best looking guy in the room." Just a suggestion. Glad to see Perry Friedman win a Flushy. That guy was great. Was hopping that he'd win a bracelet but got the "cooler" as Hellmuth would say when three handed getting QQ (got that hand is truely a bitch unless your the man Johnny Chan) running uphill to Siedel's AA. And now the BIG Flushy. "Best Phil." Ivey and Laak make good Phil's too but you cannot overcome my man Hellmuth. Your antics are classic and priceless but what I really like about you is your ability to make tremendous reads and monster lay downs. No bracelets you deserve it more than anyone else, but I hope you can settle for the Norman Chad's Flushy and my kind remarks.

Poker Superstars II: Group D: Match 1 and other comments

Long post: hope you don't fall asleep reading it.

Here is a pic from the 2005 WSOP of one of my favs Johnny Chan. Hopefully, one day that will be me during a WSOP/WPT event. Wads of money, bracelet, and of course, orange by my side.

Speaking of Johnny, anybody catch the Poker Superstars II on FSN? Johnny was there and he regulated. I must say, the 1st 20 minutes had to be the most boring poker ever, but hey, it was better than watching Hanging With Mr. Cooper star Mark Curry (dear Lord, he was the worst). For those who don't know what I mean by this, you are lucky. Curry was on the Celebrity vs. Pro edition of Poker Royale. Curry is up against David Williams. Williams goes all in and Curry holds top two and there are no draws out there that can beat him and figures I should fold. He even pulls a Scotty Ngyen and does a fake fold until everyone else convinces to call. Good grief!! This is stupidity at its finest. Could it get worse? You betcha. Next hand, he chases all the way to river bet after bet with Jack high. "He called with Jack high?!" Where's Elix Powers when you need him baby!!

Back to PSP II. Much respect to Sexton and Sklansky though but to win this type of tourny, you cannot always check or fold as my buddy Shark would say. Don't let my man Johnny run you over like he did. Get in there and splash around some time. They would of folded to a Marcel Luske (wish he was there too) splash of a chip.

Talk about a twist of fate (bad beat is not the right word technically). How about Huck Finn... I mean Huckleberry Seed moving in w/J-8 to my fellow Asian Johnny Chan's A-8. When the Jack hit the turn, Seed was disgusted with that like he was the one holding A-8. As the poker gods can be really cruel, the Ace hit on the river and Seed was happy!! That is about the happiest loser I've ever seen. Phil, take notes. I hope you were watching this! Then again, you are fine the way you are. :-)

Ok, 3 handed now. Blinds are gi-normus and Sklansky is first to act and short-stacked. He has AQ off and raises all-in. Sexton up next with AK off and he "calls." Alright, some action. The Orient Express dressed for success (gotta love Johnny's attire) gets dealt two filthy whores otherwise known as Queens. Hey what am I suppose to call them when Chan gets Queens. This is obviously his favorite hand as he cracked an A-A with a three-some of "whores" (lucky in poker and real life if the opportunity comes :-D) and was the last hand he held in capturing WSOP braclet numba 10!!

Back to hand. Chan's 3-some holds up. This hand clinched his victory. We even get a little Chan celebration after the hand. Priceless!!

Alright, I had some quotes of Hellmuth in my Inaugurial Post. I will continue that trend in my post. The quote today has to be from who else but Johnny Chan: "Cats have nine lives. Poker players need about 20."

Hope you enjoyed. I am pooped.

Inaugurial Post

Wooaahh!! A place where I get to share with you my poker experiences. Would love to receive from feedback from those that read this.

First off, I would like to thank Stevie (Sharky) H. for his hillarious blogs. To read his comical blogs, go to http://pokerroadwarrior.blogspot.com/. Steve has been a mentor and is a tremendous poker player himself. Playing his tournaments has made me a better poker player and more importantly, a good blog writer :-) But if my blogs are no good, take a bite at Shark :-)

Big day today, huge $30,000 Tourny and another one to have a chance at a WPT or WSOP Main Event seat.

TV Dinner for lunch: check. Ultra-pure Hawaii Watter: check-check. Good shit.

Bad shit now. Playing the $30K, maniac to my right keeps raising almost every hand. Sure, there is no problem with that. You gotta do this to be successfull. I know they call Gus Hansen "The Poker Tramp" (or at our pal Vince Van Patten does), but if you play online, ring games especially, they make Gus look like Dewey Tomko. (No disrespect to you guys. You guys are great players). So, maniac is cutoff (K2 of hearts) and raises. I am in BB with A5s). Flop is AK3 rainbow. I check and maniac makes the minimum bet of $150. I have $980 left and push all in. He calls immediately with middle pair and a backdoor flush draw. Great!! I'm gonna double up. SHIT!! Runner-runner heart and he knocks my ass out. I don't mind the don't calling. Basically he was willing to give me his chips. From the proverbs of a wise and brilliant poker-etiquette player Phil Hellmuth, "That is why I am the greatest player. Even the greatest players are willing to give me their chips... or at least they try." Can't count out, "If there weren't luck involved, I'd win every one of 'em." Man, I love this guy.

Ok, 1 tourny down and 1 to go. No more bad beats (or at least I won't post about it). Just happened as I was typing this up. Next time, 110% focus on game.
